About Cedar Ridge Farm

Cedar Ridge Farm is a diversified family agricultural operation that has evolved to feature farm-fresh eggs from pastured hens and ducks, sheep production, bee production, and vegetable production.

While the land has been in our family for over 200 years, Cedar Ridge Farm began as a seed for thought on an early date, in 1983, between Steve and Nancy. Nancy (then Gentry) led Steve through a jungle of privet, brambles, and honeysuckles to show him an old house site and tell him she wanted to live and have a farm there some day. She figured that when he didn’t turn and run or laugh hysterically, he had some promise.

Since that time, they have worked side by side to make this dream a reality. It has taken many hours of sweat, a great deal of prayer and many twists and turns to get it to the point it is now.

It has been said, “If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies”. Along the way, Cedar Ridge Farm has been in a constant state of evolving. Established in 1989 as a beef and pig farm, adding greenhouse production in 1993 to today having sheep, chickens, and ducks on the pastures. There are plans for more changes as we move into the next decade.

As Cedar Ridge Farm evolved and the original plan was modified, our basic mission has always been “Diversified family agriculture at work”. Today that mission remains firm, and we are committed to it now more than ever. The “farm mix” is always evolving and we continue to diversify. We are blessed to now have 3 generations working on this farm. It has been a blessing to raise our children here and to now see our grandsons growing up as “farm kids”. A farm is the best place for kids.

Located in the piedmont region of Upstate South Carolina, Cedar Ridge Farm is blessed by a great climate (usually) for growing and agricultural endeavors as well as being part of a community that values and appreciates the American Farmer.
